PLANS for a replacement artificial grass football pitch, with floodlight, at Penketh High School, have been submitted to Warrington Borough Council’s planning department.
The new pitch replace an existing pitch but will provide a significant improvement in pitch durability and availability when compared with the existing facility.
It will have a higher quality playing service and safer use throughout the year. It is intended to serve a broad user base including the school, partner organisations and other community sports groups through pre-arranged access agreements.
In accordance with current Football Association technical guidance, it will have multiple pitch markings to maximise to maximise participation and training opportunities for a wide range of age groups.
The design will update and improve on the existing artificial gras pitch ensuring minimum visual impact and avoiding any unacceptable impact on adjoining public areas or or neighbouring houses.
Planning chiefs at the borough council are now considering the proposals.
