THOUSANDS of people packed into Lymm for the annual Dickensian Festival, as Queen Victoria graciously abdicated and handed over the best-dressed crown to someone more local.
Organisers who were celebrating 40 years of the event aimed at boosting trade in the village, passed on their congratulations to Queen Victoria (aka Lizzie Greaves), who was voted best dressed. But because Lizzie wasn’t local and was simply delighted to have been selected for best dressed, she kindly donated her prize to runner-up Nicky Ramone! Well done to both, and Nicky now has a voucher for the award-winning Naz’s Spice Lounge as her prize.

Congratulations to Watson and Wilde, who were voted “Best Dressed Window.”
Following the event organisers said: “Thank you to our amazing sponsors Lymm Parish Council, Kids Planet Lymm and Lymm Veterinary Surgery.
“Thank you to Santa, Mrs Santa and their Kids Planet elf!

“Thank you to the stall holders, the street entertainers and the parade participants, without you it wouldn’t be an event at all!
“Thank you to Lymm Youth & Community Association Ltd for their hospitality to all of the marshals and to Domino’s Pizza for their pizzas for all the helpers
“Thank you to Naz’s Spice Lounge for the Best Dressed prize donation.
“Thank you to The Spread Eagle for their donation of a prize, which will be awarded to one of our awesome volunteers.
“Thank you to the marshals, making the event safe for everyone to enjoy!
“Thank you to all of the committee members-it takes such a massive effort to put this event on and each and every one of you is a superstar.
“And finally, thank you to everyone who turned up and made this such an awesome day! We hope you all enjoyed it. See you next year!”
Prior to the event, dozens of Santas from Lymm Runners ran through the village to officially start the day of activities.
