Cheshire Constabulary ran a week-long operation to target criminals wanted by police.

Operation Untolerated ran from Monday 1 December to Friday 5 December to specifically target criminals who were actively evading law enforcement, the criminal justice system and remained wanted by Cheshire Police.
Last week, The Force Intelligence Bureau led officers and staff from across the Constabulary’s specialist units to hunt down wanted offenders throughout the force to bring offenders to justice.
A total of 29 arrests were made as part of the operation which included offenders who had failed to appear at court for a variety of offences including domestic abuse, drug possession, theft, public order, road traffic offences, breach of court orders and animal cruelty. Four of the 29 offenders were arrested on recall to prison.

Detective Inspector Liam Keenan who led the operation, said: “In Cheshire, we remain committed to making the county a hostile place for criminals and will proactively target those who attempt to evade justice and cause distress to victims of crime. We will use all resources at our disposal to make Cheshire a safe place for residents and last week’s operation was the epitome of that.
“Although targeting these individuals is something we prioritise daily, during this Operation we committed additional resources to target high harm and difficult to locate offenders as we move towards the festive period. A prime example being a man apprehended and returned to prison having been initially incarcerated for serious domestic violence offences. I hope that this will bring relief to the victim now that he is back behind bars and they are now free to enjoy their Christmas.
“I’d like to reassure members of the public that Cheshire Constabulary will always take action against those who commit crime and seek to evade justice. The communities of Cheshire play a key role in helping us achieve our aims and it is only right we do our utmost to keep them safe.”
