Warrington’s Own Buses is celebrating the outstanding commitment of its frontline team after receiving an exceptional number of heartfelt commendations from passengers across the network.
From acts of kindness to exemplary professionalism, customers have been keen to share their stories – each highlighting the vital role bus drivers play in the community every day.
One passenger expressed deep gratitude to driver Damian Stanisz, who immediately stepped in to assist when a passenger tripped and fell while boarding the bus. “His kindness and caring attitude were very much appreciated. We would like to nominate him for Driver of the Year” the customer wrote.
Another story capturing the community’s heart came from passengers on Service 6, where a curious cat repeatedly boarded the bus at Piling Gardens. The driver, Stefan Rossi, patiently and gently carried the cat outside each time, much to the delight of passengers. “The whole bus was in fits of laughter. The driver was a lovely man, very kind. He made our day.”
Several messages praised drivers who consistently demonstrate attentiveness to passengers with mobility challenges. One customer highlighted a driver who stopped twice to wait for disabled individuals struggling to reach the stop: “He waited for every passenger to take a seat before moving off. Well done, wish they were all like you!”. Another customer who has relied on crutches for nearly a year also offered thanks: “Drivers always lower the bus and wait until I’m seated. It may be part of the job, but thanks are still due.”
These messages reflect the dedication, professionalism, and kindness drivers bring to the job every day. Warrington’s Own Buses are incredibly proud of them. Their actions – big or small – show how important bus services are to the community. Thank you to every customer who took the time to share their experiences.
