A CELEBRATION will take place to mark the end of a successful first year for the Discovery Scholarship in Warrington.
At the STFC Daresbury Laboratory on Tuesday July 3, between 4-6pm, pupils from local schools will be congratulated on their achievements over the last year and industry employers recognised for their commitment to the scheme.
Run by Warrington Borough Council, the scholarship is sponsored by local science and engineering companies looking to develop the skills of young people.
Dr Andrew Thomas, from the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Manchester, will treat the crowd to a scientific cabaret performance which is said to be “more magical than Harry Potter”.
