WARRINGTON Rylands bounced back to winning ways with a comprehensive 4 – 2 victory over Hyde United at a rain swept Quickline Logistics Arena this Saturday.
Goals from George Waring, youngster Ryan Tioffo and a brace from Ben Hardcastle were enough to take all three points and move up one place in the league table.
Once again, Neil Reynolds’ choice of players was reduced with Jake Burton and Matt Regan unavailable following their injuries sustained in midweek and when Tunde Owolabi left the pitch late in the first half it seemed as though his problems were growing.
However, Warrington soon took control of the match under torrential rain, creating chance upon chance, but too often the balls played through from midfield skidded across the wet grass and out of play.

Ben Hardcastle scored a penalty
Ben Hardcastle kept the ball at his feet as he ran into the penalty area and was instantly fouled by a Hyde defender. Hardcastle stepped up to the spot and blasted the ball past keeper Yusuf Mersin for the first goal
Five minutes later, Waring stretched his long legs to tap the ball into the net for the second.

George Waring scores the second
This was to be a proverbial game of two halves, though the Tigers came out for the second half and changed the momentum of the match. They fought back into contention as the downpour increased and took advantage of the home team players sliding along the ground with two quick goals from Lewis Rawsthorn and Jack Redshaw.
One of Reno’s quotes a few games ago was that his players never know when they are beaten. They defied the advances of the travelling side and just when it looked as though the spoils from this match would be shared and the referee added on injury time, Hardcastle made another run into the box. His shot appeared to take a rebound and sped into the back of the net to the delight of the home supporters.
Substitute Jeanny Akpo’s speed was too much for the tired legs of Hyde’s right back and his crosses had been causing chaos. Ryan Tioffo was also making a nuisance of himself in front of goal and when he met an Akpo cross he produced the fourth goal, despite initially being pulled to the ground.
The Blues now have a week to prepare for their next match when they make the long trip to Tyne & Wear to face Hebburn Town FC.
