WARRINGTON Ryland’s unbeaten run in the Northern Premier League came to a sudden halt at Lancaster City last night when they were stunned by two amazing first-half goals.
Lancaster, still buzzing from a win over Rushall on Saturday, were well prepared for Warrington and were soon on the front foot, threatening Pilling in goal, but the defence stood firm.
However, 23 minutes into the match Steven Yawson managed to beat Ryland’s defence and fired a thunderbolt into the top of the net as Pilling could only stand and watch.
Eleven minutes later and Charlie Bailey doubled the lead with an exact copy of the first goal.

Warrington fought hard to get back into the game, but it seemed as though the bounce of the ball was always against them.
Neil Reynolds made changes in the second half which certainly upped the tempo of play. Chances were created, but some great saves from Brad Kelly, several near misses, and Regan’s header against the bar meant that The Dolly Blues took all three points and kept a clean sheet.
Warrington Rylands will have next Saturday off due to the Emirates FA Cup. Their next game will be at The Quickline Logistics Arena on Tuesday, 16th September, when they host Ashton United.
