LYMM Football Club, which faced relegation after a dismal season in the Lancashire Amateur League, is suddenly needing to strengthen its 1st team squad – because it is now to be promoted.
Reorganisation of the league means the Sandy Lane outfit, which finished second from bottom of division three and faced the drop to division four, will in fact be moved up to division two.
Committee man Jimmy Slavin, of JC Slavin Landscapes, who sponsor the 1st team, said: “We really need to strengthen the side.
“We want really keen players, not just from Lymm but from anywhere, who want to play football at a good standard every Saturday.
“Players who really eat, drink and sleep football and will be available every week.
“This unexpected promotion means we will be able to offer players the chance to play at a really good standard.”
Lymm run three sides, including a veterans team, which finished fourth in division six and a reserve team which held its own in division five.
Pre-season training will officially start early in July, although training is continuing throughout the summer months.
Anyone interested in joining the club should call Jimmy on 07737 655211 or 1st team manager Steve De-Cruz on 07949 531933.
