LATCHFORD Albion Giants made it 10 wins from 10 games in the league when they defeated Leigh East A 50-10
Jubilant head coach Sean Bond said: “ I was really happy with the lads as I asked them to focus on three things against what I knew was going to be a very well organised and physical Leigh East A.
“The game plan was to maintain discipline, be clinical with the ball, and to look ahead and utilise the space on our big pitch. “
The squad executed the plan brilliantly and started strongly with Ryan Edwards, Jack Harvey and Harrison Cliffe all crossing in the opening 20 minutes, with Will Maguire converting two.
Leigh responded with a converted try, but Harvey crossed for his second, again converted by Maguire which saw the hosts hold a healthy 22-6 lead at the break
Any thoughts of an East comeback were quickly extinguished when Riley Cole crossed in the opening minutes of the second half, tries then continued from Matthew Hill, Will Maguire, Alfie Kennedy, and a try on debut for Kyle Melvin, with Maguire adding three conversions and Dave Manfredi one to seal an emphatic win for Latchford.
