Beauty salon's sign opposed

A BEAUTY salon’s retrospective application for permission to erect a sign outside their property has angered councillors.
Members of Stockton Heath Parish Council have objected to the non-illuminated fascia sign outside Uber Beauty in London Road, Stockton Heath.
They say it is overbearing on the street scene, could distract motorists and pedestrians and set a precedent for more similar signs.
A plan to use the former house as a beauty salon was approved retrospectively last year.
Planning officers are recommending the sign be approved and say they can see no detrimental impact on visual amenity, public or highway safety.
