Grappenhall suffered another heavy defeat

GRAPPENHALL suffered another heavy defeat – going down by 168 runs at Urmston.

The result leaves Grappers at the bottom of the Cheshire County League division one – still looking for their first win of the season.
Urmston batted first and hit 275-9 despite the Grappers attack bowling consistently. Arran McCabe took 2-56. Aryan Ashish 2-62 and Sam Trumper 2-27.
Grappers started promisingly, with 25 on the board before a wicket fell. But they were soon struggling at 46-4 and although wicket-keeper William Fell hit a defiant 28 they were all out for 107 in the 36th over.

In division three, Warrington’s great start to the season came off the rails when they were beaten by 160-runs at Tattenhall.
The home side chose to bat first and hit 275-8, with Brandon Andrews taking 3-55.
Warrington, chasing a revised target, could only muster 115-5 with Asmir Ali top scoring with a well-struck 50.
It was Warrington’s first defeat of the season but they remain top of the league.
In the Cheshire Cricket League, division one, Lymm Oughtrington Park went down by two wickets, hosting Stockport Trinity.
Lymm were all out for 151, Antonnel Atwell hitting 57 and K Maghara 54.
The visitors hit 156-8, with Anthony Spaven and Maghara picking up three wickets each.
In division two, Appleton went down in a close-fought battle at Chester County Officers.
The Chester side hit 211-9, with S Sparks the pick of the Appleton bowlers with 8-12.
Appleton replied with 197-3 with Ian Richards hitting 85 and Oliver Cross 48.
In division three, Glazebury lost by eight wickets hosting Kerridge.
Batting first, they were all out for 96, Anthony Meulman hitting 46.
The visitors reached their target for the loss of only two wickets.
