TWO boys, aged 13 and 14, have been arrested on suspicion of robbery at Warrington.
Both are being held following two incidents in Sankey Valley Park last night (Thursday).
The robberies are alleged to have taken place between 6.30pm and 7.30pm. In both incidents, teenagers were approached by two youths who threatened them and demand they hand over their mobile phones.
Nobody was hurt as a result of any of the incidents.
Police are seeking information from anyone who saw anything in the park last night.
Inspector Dave Griffiths said “Local police spend a significant amount of time patrolling the areas around Sankey Valley Park and acting upon local intelligence in relation to criminal activity in and around the local area.
“Clearly these incidents last night were linked and local officers acted swiftly in arresting two suspects. Reducing crime and antisocial behaviour remains a priority for our team and I would always urge the public to report any suspicious activity to us so we can continue to police the area effectively”
Anyone who can help should call police on 101.
