LYMM’S hockey international, Sarah Impey is looking for sponsorship if she plays in the Masters World Cup in London next year.
Sarah (pictured), who achieved her ambition of representing her country this year after 34 years of playing hockey, hopes to be playing in the competition which will be treated as a “test” for the artificial grass pitches to be used for the Olympic hockey games.
Teams from all over the world will be taking part and Sarah would welcome sponsorship towards her expenses.
She has just completed her first season of internationals, playing for the England Over 45s team.
She played against Wales at Cardiff, scoring the only goal in a 1-0 victory and against Ireland, when she played a key role in a 3-0 victory.
Later she played twice for the England Lionesses – a mixed team of Over 45s and Over 50s – against Ireland. But the Irish fielded an Over 40s team and “youth” won the day, with the Lionesses losing 1-0 and 2-1.
Sarah said: “I would like to thank my sponsors, John and Kerry, directors of J&K Pipelines Ltd., of Lymm and Eddie O’Neill, director of Electrical and Date Solutions Ltd, of Altrincham.”
Normally, Sarah plays for Timperley 2nd team in the Cheshire Women’s League.
Anyone who would like to sponsor her should call 0781 190 7750
