ARTISTS and performers are being invited to join a month-long Warrington Contemporary Arts Festival from September 24.
Exhibitions, a public art trail, performances and displays of a wide range of contemporary arts will be included in the festival. Venues to be used include Warrington Museum and Art Gallery, The Gallery At Bank Quay House and Pyramid and Parr Hall.
The festival aims to promote creative artists in Warrington and it is hoped that it will become an annual event.
Emma Kelly, curator at The Gallery at Bank Quay House, said: “This month long event will celebrate the wealth of artistic talent within the region.
“Following on from the success of recent exhibitions such as (R)Evolution and Elbow Toe at Warrington Museum and Art Gallery, the festival will highlight the growing support and interest in contemporary arts in and around Warrington from the performing and visual arts sector.”
Organisers are seeking local artists working across visual media, performance, creative writing and music to get involved during the festival. Works should be on one of four themes – Journeys, Love, Music and Seasons.
There are four categories that contemporary work can be submitted for – Contemporary Open Exhibition, Arts and Craft Fair, Artist Engagement and Film Screening.
Further details about the exhibition are available from Emma Kelly at info@thegalleryatbankquayhouse.co.uk or telephone 01925 418 064.
