WARRINGTON Town got back to winning ways with a 3-1 victory over Durham City as a penalty save by keeper Paul Pritchard helped save the day.
Town led 2-1 early in the second half when Pritchard came to the rescue with a fine penalty save and then striker Chris Thompson helped secure all three valuable points with his second goal of the day on 66 minutes.
Thompson opned the scoring on the half hour with midfielder Adam Wade netting a second three minutes later.
But Warrington failed to take control and were duly punished when Amar Purewal scored for the visitors just before the break.
Both side missed goal scoring opportunities prior to the penalty save and Thompson’s second strike gave some much needed breathing space.
The much-need victory helped keep Warrington in the play off hunt.
Next up is a trip to Cammell Laird on Tuesday night, kick off 7.45pm
