A bird hitting an overhead powerline is believed to have started a field fire at Appleton, yesterday afternoon.
Shortly before 14:30 three fire crews from Warrington, Penketh and Birchwood attended at the field off Lumb Brook Road.
Firefighters used two hose reel water jets and beaters to extinguish a blaze covering 40m x 40m, which is believed to have been started by a bird hitting an overhead powerline.
In another incident at 01:00 this morning one crew from Warrington was called out a garden fence fire in Calgarth Avenue, Warrington
Firefighters used a hose reel water jet to out a wooden perimeter fence on fire. It did not spread to neighbouring gardens or properties.
Finally at 03:21 one crew was called out to a fire in the open Grasmere Avenue, Orford, Warrington.
Firefighters used a hose reel water jet to put out a small fire thought to have been started on purpose. Anyone with information should call Cheshire Police on 101.
