Police investigation underway following flat fire at Orford

THREE fire crews and police were called out last night following a blaze at a flat in Orford, Warrington.

The incident took place at 9:15 pm at an unoccupied flat on Festival Avenue, Orford.

Fire crews from Warrington, Birchwood and Penketh attended at the scene as firefighters in breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze and a high-pressure fan to clear smoke from the property.

The flat was unoccupied at the time of the fire and an investigation into the cause is underway. Police officers also attended the incident.
