WE’RE all aware that spending time in the sun is bad for our skin. We can see the damage it does. It has a similar effect on the eyes and the damage caused can be irreversible and very damaging to your sight over time.
It’s really important that you protect your eyes from UV. If you don’t have a prescription this means getting good quality sunglasses.
If you do have a prescription there are several ways you can combat this:
• All of our clear lenses have 100% UV protection so you’re protected even if the lenses don’t look like they’re doing anything.
• Photochromic (react-to-light) lenses that will darken according to the brightness of your environment.
• Prescription sunglasses
It’s worth noting that the best sunglasses are often bigger and more curved than regular glasses to provide more protection so even if you have UV protection in your normal glasses a separate pair of sunglasses may well be even better for you!
