Two taken to hospital following serious incident at Birchwood

A man and a woman were both taken to hospital earlier today following an incident at Birchwood which involved a 51-year-old man suffering serious injuries.

Numerous police and emergency services attended at a property on Halliday Close earlier today at around 12:40 pm following reports of a domestic incident.

A 51-year-old man is understood to have suffered serious injuries and been taken to Aintree Hospital, while a 53-year-old woman was also found injured and taken to Warrington Hospital.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: “At around 12.40 pm today, Tuesday, March 8, police were called to reports of a domestic incident at an address on Halliday Close, Birchwood.

“Officers attended the scene and a 51-year-old man was found to have what are believed to be serious injuries.

“He has been taken Aintree Hospital.

“A 53-year-old woman was also found injured at the address.

“She has been taken to Warrington Hospital.

“This is believed to be an isolated incident.”

The woman has since been released from hospital while the 51-year-old man’s condition is said to be stable.
