One more COVID-19 related death as inpatient numbers rise while infection rates continue to fall

WHILE COVID-19 infection rates are continuing to fall in Warrington, one more death has sadly been reported at the town’s hospital, while inpatient numbers have also increased over the weekend.

A total of 105 (92) COVID-19 cases were reported by the UK Health Security Agency in the latest daily data, taking the total number of cases recorded in Warrington since the start of the pandemic to 66,006 (65,902).

Infection rate figures over a seven-day period have fallen slightly again to 1,078 (1,163) – 514.8 (555.4) per 100,000 population and remain below the national average of 678.5 (715.2) per 100,000 which continue to fall.

While one more death has been reported at the hospital, inpatient numbers have gone up from 53-61, including two in ICU, while 12 patients were discharged.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 574 (574) 274.1 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 237.9.
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is 640 (640) 305.6.
