AlphaBiolabs supports vulnerable families this Christmas

WARRINGTON-headquartered AlphaBiolabs has extended its support to vulnerable families this Christmas with a series of fundraising initiatives.

As part of its annual 12 Days of Christmas campaign, the business – a leading provider of DNA, drug, alcohol and Covid-19 testing services in the UK – donated £100 per day for 11 days, supporting 11 Trussell Trust food banks across the country.

The national campaign began on 6th December with a donation to Warrington Foodbank at Tanning Court, with members of the AlphaBiolabs team delivering £100 worth of food items.

Also benefitting from donations were two food banks in London, and one in Cardiff, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Blackburn, Newcastle upon Tyne and Glasgow, all of which are home to AlphaBiolabs walk-in centres.

On the 12th day, a £1,000 donation was also made to Cash for Kids, a grant-giving charity that helps disadvantaged children across the UK.

But the company’s fundraising efforts this year have gone beyond Christmas donations.

From mid-2021, it also pledged to donate £5 from every legal instruction received as part of its Giving Back campaign, raising £19,000 for its four charity partners in the first six months of the campaign. Something which it will continue into 2022.

Funds raised have been donated on a quarterly basis to Nacoa, which supports people affected by their parent’s drinking, the National Youth Advocacy Service (NYAS), TGP Cymru, which works with vulnerable children, young people and families across Wales, and Scottish Families Affected by Alcohol & Drugs.

Rachel Davenport, Commercial Director at AlphaBiolabs, said: “Giving back is so important, especially after all that has happened over the last 12 months.

“With our annual 12 Days of Christmas initiative, we want to make a positive difference to some of the children and families who have struggled throughout the year, in the hope that we can make the festive season that little bit brighter for them.

“Through our work providing DNA, drug and alcohol testing services, we have regular contact with many people who are undergoing legal or court-instructed DNA, drug and alcohol testing, and who find themselves struggling with some aspects of everyday life.

“That’s why our Giving Back campaign is so important. We wanted to recognise the incredible efforts of these charities, all of whom do amazing work with some of the UK’s most vulnerable children and families.”
