TWO men were arrested following the discovery of cannabis plants at a town centre property in Warrington.
The pair were arrested by officers from Warrington Town Centre Neighbourhood Policing Unit after they executed a warrant at an address in White Street.
A quantity of cannabis plants were discovered inside the property and the men were arrested at the scene.
They helped police with their enquiries throughout the day and one man (a 24-year-old) was bailed pending further enquiries. No further action was taken against the second man (a 42-year-old).
Inspector Neil Drum, of Warrington Town Centre Neighbourhood Policing Unit, said: “We are committed to tackling suspected criminal activity and anti-social behaviour in the area.“Illegal drug use is an issue that we take seriously and we will do all we can to put a stop to this sort of activity.
“We want to reassure those who live, work and visit the town centre that we are committed to tackling the issues that matter to them.
“Anyone with any information about suspected drug use and supply within the town centre is urged to contact us – even the smallest piece of information can be vital when piecing together a case.”
