Golden tickets up for grabs at Bents to celebrate 20 years

GOLDEN tickets will be hidden throughout Bents Garden & Home Centre to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its ‘The Fresh Approach’ restaurant.

On September 20, if you find one of 20 golden tickets, you will be treated to a complimentary meal for two; while a lucky dip will also be located at the entrance with 20 free meals on offer for those who pull out a winning ticket.

When it opened in September 2001, after 7 years of planning, the Fresh Approach Restaurant was unlike anything seen in a garden centre before; a £1m investment, 400 seat restaurant, offering only the freshest food all homemade on the premises. This dedicated approach to garden centre dining

has not only attracted many loyal customers but it also initiated major change throughout the industry.

Matthew Bent, Managing Director at Bents Garden & Home, said: “Where has the time gone? It seems like no time at all since we were making plans for our new restaurant and now here we are already celebrating its 20th anniversary.

“We are hugely proud of the Fresh Approach Restaurant and the fantastic team who work tirelessly to deliver what we think is one of the best food and service in the industry!”

The Fresh Approach Restaurant has gone on to become an award winning destination and over the past 20 years it has held the Garden Centre Association’s title of Best Restaurant in the UK on multiple occasions.

It holds Warrington Council’s highest accreditations for excellence in food standards and hygiene and exceptional provision of healthy food options, with vegetarian, vegan and GF meals always available.

It’s brigade of in-house chefs are all dedicated to providing a first class service to the normally 900 seat restaurant. It has also led the way in Dining at Bents as the Centre now boasts six separate dining destinations, all offering the same standards and dedication as The Fresh Approach Restaurant.

In addition to the main restaurant customers can normally also choose from Caffe nel Verde, The Pet Café, Tapas Bar, Jurassic Cove Alfresco Dining and Alfresco Dining Huts; and all should hopefully be operating as normal very soon.

The origins of dining at Bents date back to 1981 when The Balcony Coffee Bar was opened.

It was originally opened to sceptical comments from the industry, but despite this feedback it quickly established an excellent reputation for quality homemade food, wonderful flavours and speciality coffees.

It was a forerunner to what is now an expected element to any garden centre experience.
