Community vaccination drop in session comes to Lymm

WARRINGTON’S vaccination team will be in Lymm, tomorrow, Tuesday, June 15, offering jabs to anyone aged over 18 who hasn’t had their first jab yet.

The session is taking place at Safety Central, Cliff Lane, Lymm, from 4pm to 7pm and to avoid any vaccine wastage, it is open to anyone aged 18 or over who hasn’t had their first COVID jab.

Jabs will be given on a first-come, first-served basis and there will only be a limited number available. Anyone who receives their jab on the day will be offered an appointment for their second vaccination at Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub.
Please be aware that the session might end early if all vaccines have been administered and you may have to queue. You will also have to be observed for 15 minutes after receiving your vaccination.
If you wish to receive your jab, please bring your NHS number with you. If you don’t know your NHS number, you can find it on any appointment letter you may have received from the NHS, or you can find it online at nhs.uk/find-nhs-number.
If you are a nearby resident, please walk to the venue if possible.
Anyone who attends the vaccination session will also have the option of getting health and lifestyle information from LiveWire’s Lifestyles Team. This will include advice on weight management, blood pressure, stopping smoking, health walks, and getting back into exercise.
If you are unable to attend the session, there are other ways you can get vaccinated in Warrington.
Anyone aged 20 or over can book an appointment for their vaccine at Warrington Hospital. The hospital clinics are for first dose appointments only and can be booked using their online booking service.
If you are aged 25 or over (or turn 25 before 1 July), you can book in for your jabs at a local vaccination site using the national NHS booking service, by calling 119 or contacting your GP practice.
Warrington GP and Clinical Director of the Central and West Warrington Primary Care Network, Dr Laura Mount, said: “Our friendly team of vaccinators, clinic co-ordinators and volunteers will be administering first doses of the COVID vaccine at Safety Central in Lymm to anyone aged 18 or over.
“We want to make it as easy and convenient as possible for people in Warrington to get their jab, so are working with a range of partners, like Cheshire Fire and Rescue on this occasion, to source appropriate venues to run community drop-in clinics.
“By taking vaccines out into local communities, we can administer jabs safely and efficiently to people who haven’t been able to visit one of the local vaccination sites.”
Warrington’s Director of Public Health, Thara Raj, said: “We’re delighted to be working with the NHS to help get as many people as possible vaccinated in Warrington. The vaccine programme has been a great success so far and we’re entering the final phase as younger people are now being invited to get their jabs.
“The range of settings that the vaccine has been delivered is testament to the collaborative, whole-system approach in Warrington, and these community drop-in sessions are another great example of this. I would urge everyone to get their jab as soon as they are able to – alongside remembering the basics of hands, face, space, and fresh air, and regular community testing – it’s our best defence against the virus!”
