A washout for Warrington’s cricket clubs

1

ALL cricket involving Warrington clubs was washed out on Saturday as rain lashed the area almost constantly.
It was a bitter blow to the town’s two premier clubs.
Grappenhall – aiming for promotion to the RSK Cheshire County League’s ECB Premier division and currently sitting just one place adrift of the promotion zone – missed out on a chance of beating a Sale side which has currently won only one game this season.

Warrington, currently eighth in division one, were denied a crack at lowly Macclesfield.
In the UKFast Cheshire League, Lymm Oughtrington Park and Appleton – both currently uncomfortably near the bottom of the division two table – also missed out on chances to improve their points tally.
