North West water company United Utilities welcomed colleagues and local veterans to its very first Armed Forces Network Breakfast, bringing people together for a morning of conversation, connection and community support.

The event was held as part of the Warrington company’s ongoing commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant. It offered guests the chance to share brews, stories and bacon butties while strengthening relationships across the veteran and colleague community, while also highlighting support for colleague wellbeing.
United Utilities’ Armed Forces Network plays a key role in championing those who have served, offering peer support, guidance and opportunities to engage with the wider Armed Forces community.
Attendees were invited to make voluntary donations to the Royal British Legion, helping to support the charity’s vital work with serving personnel, veterans and their families.
Funds raised from the event will contribute to welfare services, community support programmes and remembrance activities across the region.

Alongside celebrating the Armed Forces community, the event also highlighted the mental‑health resources available to United Utilities employees, especially those feeling the effects of service life and previous conflict.
Adam Lappin, United Utilities Armed Forces Network Lead, said: “Our Armed Forces community is an important part of who we are as a business. Events like this breakfast help us recognise the contribution of those who have served, continue to serve, or are part of the Armed Forces Family and ensure they feel supported, valued and connected within United Utilities.”
Joe Dodd, United Utilities’ Defence Relationship Manager and Local RBL President, added:  “It’s fantastic to see UU colleagues and Veterans come together while also supporting the Royal British Legion, their work as part of the Armed Forces Network makes a real difference to the lives of those who have served or continue to serve, and we’re proud to play a part in that.”
