Soup Productions takes us back to the 80s

Warrington-based theatre company Soup Productions is returning to the stage this month with its drama, “Under the Iron Clock”

Based on a classic story ‘From Morning to Midnight’, this adaptation steps into 1980s Northern England and a world unlike any theatre you’ve seen before. Under the Iron Clock, written and directed by Joshua Gosney, follows a weary bank clerk who steals one hundred thousand pounds in search of freedom, meaning, and the true price of life. This immersive, abstract production blends German Expressionist visuals, symbolic imagery, larger-than-life characters, a queer drag queen lip-syncing to 80s hits, and biting social commentary. Funny, provocative, and unforgettable, it challenges the system, explores the cost of ambition, and celebrates the chaos of living fully.

This show follows a very busy and rewarding period for Soup, where they recently were nominated for 7 NODA Awards for their 2025 shows. We are proud to be a theatre company that specialises in originally written work and projects. Our members are heavily involved with the group.  Whether it’s set design or choreography or production, everyone gets stuck in and aims to get the best result from our shows.
