WARRINGTON Wolves’ perfect start to 2026 continued with a 72-6 thumping of Castleford.
The returning Matty Ashton crossed for a hat-trick and Kelepi Tanginoa scored four in a 12-try victory at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Sam Burgess’ side have now won four out of four in Super League, together with two victories in the Challenge Cup and their two pre-season wins as 2026 continues to bubble along nicely.
Ashton, making his return from a long-term injury lay-off, scored the first two tries as Warrington got the game done in the first half.
Ewan Irwin, preferred to Marc Sneyd at half-back, scored two early penalties that in the end were redundant, as he ended up with 24 goalkicking points across the 80 minutes.
Ben Currie scored the third try before Cas scored their only consolation through Semi Valemei.
Tanginoa scored two before the break and added his third shortly after half time for his first career hat-trick.
Currie got his second and then Tanginoa scored a fourth, while the Wolves still managed to ease through even down to 12 men following Toby King’s sinbin, Sam Stone scoring in his absence.
James Harrison got on the scoresheet and then Ashton added his third.
