Warrington MP Sarah Hall officially opened a new play area at St Philip Church of England Primary School in Westbrook.
The project was supported by housebuilder Bellway, who donated £500 towards the new climbing frame and all-weather artificial grass surfacing.
The upgraded outdoor area will provide all children, from Early Years through to Key Stage 2, with daily opportunities to test their physical capabilities, build strength and coordination, and engage socially with peers.
The carefully considered and inclusive design of the space ensures pupils of all abilities can participate fully and safely. It also aligns with the school’s Christian values, including respect, perseverance, friendship and community.
Paul Stanley, Headteacher at St Philip Church of England Primary School, says: “Our aim was to enhance our outdoor provision, transforming an underused area of the playground. I’m thrilled to see the end result which is a stimulating, safe and accessible space that encourages active play, physical development and imaginative exploration.
“We are delighted Sarah Hall was able to join us today to officially open the play area, and that Bellway’s Tracy Plumpton, whose granddaughter is a pupil here at the school, could make it too. It was a wonderful occasion.”
