TOMORROW (Wednesday) is No Smoking Day and support is on hand in Warrington for those looking to take their first steps to kicking the habit.
LiveWire’s stop smoking team is hosting several events across the week to provide expert advice and support to people wanting smoke-free future.
Events lined up are:
• Tomorrow, Warrington Hospital, Lovely Lane, WA5 1QG – 10am – 2pm and Birchwood Shopping Centre, Dewhurst Road – 1pm – 3pm.
• Thursday, Warrington Market, 2 Time Square, WA1 2NT – 10am – 1pm and the Living Well Hub, 26-30 Horsemarket Street, WA1 1XL – 10am – 12pm.
• Friday, Cockhedge Shopping Park, 17 Cockhedge Way, WA1 2QQ – 10am-12pm
Cllr Maureen McLaughlin, the borough council’s cabinet member for Health, Wellbeing and Social Care said: “No Smoking Day is a great opportunity to promote the support we have available here in Warrington for our residents and we want to encourage as many smokers as possible to make a quit attempt.
“With support, people are three times more likely to quit successfully compared to going it alone. Last year, LiveWire supported more than 800 smokers to quit. It can be difficult to stop smoking, but it can be made easier with the right help. A smoke-free life starts with a smoke-free day.”
