An unforgettable black-tie charity event held at the Village Hotel in Warrington has so far raised an incredible £15,330 for Childhood Eye Cancer Trust (CHECT), the charity supporting children and families affected by retinoblastoma

Hosted in honour of a young local boy, George, who is currently receiving support from the charity. The evening brought together 180 guests for a night of celebration, generosity, and heartfelt community spirit.

The event featured a full programme of entertainment, including singing waiters who surprised guests with show-stopping performances, as well as a raffle and live auction packed with sought-after prizes. Guests embraced the black-tie theme, filling the room with glamour while uniting behind a deeply personal and meaningful cause.

Organisers described the night as “overwhelmingly emotional and uplifting,” adding that the total raised is expected to rise even further as additional donations and auction proceeds are still being finalised.

Childhood Eye Cancer Trust provides vital support, information, and resources to families navigating retinoblastoma, a rare form of childhood eye cancer. Funds raised from the evening will go directly toward helping families during what is often an incredibly challenging journey.

The host expressed heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended, donated, sponsored prizes, or helped behind the scenes, saying the generosity shown on the night was “nothing short of amazing.”

With laughter, tears, and a packed dance floor, the evening proved not only a fundraising success but also a powerful reminder of what a community can achieve when it comes together for a cause close to the heart.
