A SPORTS coach from Lymm is planning to run seven marathons in seven days to raise money and awareness of the Neonatal unit at Warrington Hospital.

Tom Dore, who runs Dynamic Sports Coaching in Lymm plans his marathon of marathons in May. It’s a way of thanking the hospital who saved his daughter’s life in September, 2024.

He’s already raised over £2,600 of his £5,000 target!
It’s not the first time Tom has put on his running-shoes for a good cause.
In 2023 he ran 5km a day to raise money for a power chair football team in Sale.
This May he’ll be running for his own daughter.
He said: “My little girl Talya was born on September 12, 2024. She was born with meningitis and spent two weeks battling it in the Neonatal unit at Warrington.
“I have so far raised £25, 00 in just over a few weeks and I’m looking for people to share their stories of gratitude towards the ward but also to really push the money total up to help!
“Just moments into the world it was feared Taiya was battling a serious infection which was later confirmed to be Meningitis. There’s not enough words to emphasise the fear and dread hearing the ward’s doctor tell us the next 48 hours would be important and potentially life or death.
“Taiya was in the Neonatal ward for two weeks before we were allowed to take her home. Whilst they were easily the hardest two weeks of our lives it really opened our eyes to how incredibly lucky we were to have the care and support from the nurses on the Neonatal ward. They saved Taiya’s life and also kept myself and Talisa going when we were really struggling.”
