MAYOR of Warrington Cllr. Mo Hussain officially opened the newly refurbished doors of the Holy Trinity Coffee Bar, marking a significant milestone for the local hub, which has served as a sanctuary for residents for over three decades.
Standing before a crowd of volunteers, supporters, and regular visitors, the Mayor praised the project with a resounding: “Wow, well done, and thank you.” The Holy Trinity Coffee Bar has long been a vital resource for the town. While its mission is to support those facing poverty, disadvantage, or social isolation, its message to the public remains simple and inclusive: “We are open to all and especially to people who are finding life difficult for whatever reason.”
During the ceremony, Chris Purslow (DL) expressed his ongoing admiration for the project and extended formal thanks to Warrington Borough Council for their vital support. Sharing a personal reflection, Mr Purslow spoke of how moved he was during every visit, noting that the Coffee Bar perfectly echoes Holy Trinity’s mission of reflecting the love of Christ in the heart of Warrington.
The renovation of the entrance was made possible by the National Lottery Community Fund. Natalie MacGregor, TNL Funding Manager, attended the ceremony to celebrate the impact of the grant.
“These doors are more than just an entrance; they are a symbol of a community that refuses to leave anyone behind,” the Mayor said during the ribbon-cutting. “Whether you have been coming here for 30 years or walked in for the first time this week, you are part of the fabric of this space.”

Recognising Local Partners
The Mayor and the Holy Trinity team also extended heartfelt thanks to the diverse group of partners who make this mission possible:
• Holy Trinity Staff and Volunteers: For their tireless work, both front-of-house and “under the radar,” fueled by a deep commitment to the town.
• Manchester Alliance Church: Pastor Winson and Pastor Alice were thanked for their popular Cantonese Coffee Bar on Mondays and for providing a rich, dedicated seam of volunteers.
• Behind-the-Scenes Support: Gratitude was shown to Archdeacon Simon and the Liverpool Diocese for their invaluable support, as well as Warrington Voluntary Action.
The Holy Trinity Coffee Bar continues to be a lively, welcoming space where a warm drink comes with a side of friendship and support. With these new doors now officially open, the team looks forward to welcoming even more of Warrington’s residents into their community.
