FIREFIGHTERS battled through the night tackling a blaze at a Chinese takeaway in Orford, Warrington.

At 23:48 last night (Tuesday) fire engines from Warrington, Penketh, Birchwood, and Lymm, as well as the Aerial Ladder Platform from Lymm, attended reports of a fire at China Garden on Central Avenue.
Relief crews later attended from Widnes, Chester and Middlewich.
Crews were in attendance throughout the night at the Chinese takeway. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets and an Aerial Ladder Platform (ALP) to tackle the blaze and prevent the fire from spreading.
As the incident progressed, crews successfully extinguished the fire and ensured there was no fire spread to neighbouring properties. Crews dampened down the building and removed roof tiles to expose any potential hotspots.
By early morning, the incident was scaled down to two pumps, with crews using thermal imaging cameras to check for hotspots. All persons were accounted for, and firefighters remained on scene to monitor conditions. A fire investigation was conducted, and it is believed that the fire began accidentally.
Firefighters remained on the scene this morning, monitoring the building using thermal imaging cameras.
