WARRINGTON Town fell to a third successive defeat as they went down 1-0 at Ashton United.
Jason Gilchrist’s goal against the run of play in the first half was enough to win the three points for the hosts, breaking the offside trap and slotting past Liam Isherwood.
The Yellows had otherwise enjoyed the better of the first half, creating a couple of chances and knocking on the door without being able to break the deadlock.
But in the second half, chances were few and far between, with the wet conditions making things difficult for both teams.
It means the Yellows now slide to 10th in the table after a disastrous eight days that has seen them fall off the play-off pace.
