Fire crews alerted after brazier fire spreads to garage and roof of house

FIVE fire crews were alerted when a brazier fire spread to a garage and the roof of a house at Culcheth, Warrington.

At 12:43 yesterday, Wednesday, two fire engines from Birchwood and Chester, the aerial ladder platform from Chester, as well as two fire engines from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service attended reports of a fire at a property on Withington Avenue involving a brazier that had spread to a nearby garage and the roof of a house.
On arrival, firefighters used two hose reel jets to extinguish the blaze and dampen down surrounding areas. A ladder was pitched to allow crews to access the roof, where sections of roofing were removed to check for fire spread.
A thermal imaging camera was used to check for hotspots within the affected property and neighbouring homes.
There weere no reports of any injuries.
