WARRINGTON Borough Council has announced it is hosting two important budget briefing sessions for Businesses and Voluntary, Community, Faith, and Social Enterprise (VCSFE) sector groups next week.
As announced previously, the Council is facing its most difficult budget ever, with a large budget gap across the Council’s four-year financial plan from 2026/27 onwards. This means there are difficult choices ahead about the services the council can continue to provide, as it seeks to fundamentally redefine how it operates.
These important budget briefing sessions will offer businesses and community organisations the chance to find out more about the Council’s budget difficulties. The two sessions will take place online, at:
• Business briefing: Monday 9 February, 11 am – 12noon – book via Eventbrite
• Voluntary, community, social enterprise and faith groups briefing: Tuesday 10 February, 2 pm – 3 pm – book via Eventbrite
People who would like to attend the briefings need to register online, where they will then be issued the online meeting link. CLICK HERE
The budget briefings will be led by the Cabinet member for finance, Cllr Denis Matthews, and the Council’s Section 151 Officer/ Finance Director, Claire Postlethwaite.
