NEW homes in Warrington are available to buy at a 20 per cent discount, subject to criteria.
Anwyl Homes is working with Warrington Borough Council to offer an affordable route to homeownership for local residents.
The homebuilder is offering selected two and three-bedroom homes at its Eagles Green development at 80 per cent of the market value, subject to eligibility criteria, with some of the homes exclusively for first time buyers.
Area sales manager Amy Houlihan said: “It’s imperative that we cater for local needs with the homes we are building. The cost of living can make it seem that homeownership is out of reach for some people, or that they have to move away from family and friends to be able to buy. By offering homes at a meaningful discount to open market value, we’re creating an accessible pathway into homeownership. It’s a practical, affordable solution that helps people remain living in the community they love.”
Anwyl has 12 homes at Eagles Green available for “affordable sale”. These two and three-bedroom properties are being sold at 80 per cent of the market value, subject to criteria. To be eligible buyers must live or work in Warrington; not own or part own any other property or have willingly sold a property in the last three years; the new home must be their only home.
A further 15 homes are “discount market units” for first time buyers aged 23 to 40. These one, two and three-bedroom homes, priced up to £250,000, are also being offered at 80 per cent of the market value.
Under both schemes, the discount must remain in perpetuity if the homeowner decides to sell the property in the future.
Using one of the schemes, eligible purchasers could secure a new two-bedroom semi-detached Sankey style home for £243,199. For those looking for a larger home, a three-bedroom Woolston style property can be purchased from £249,999.
Eagles Green will eventually feature a broad range of energy efficient homes, with one to five-bedrooms.
The 157-home development is part of the wider Omega scheme regenerating the former 600-acre RAF Burtonwood airbase. The wider new neighbourhood includes a two-form entry primary school, 35-acre country park and a commercial hub.
