UP to 18 weeks of road closures have been scheduled at Lymm to allow Scottish Power to install a new HV cable.
The works will be carried out in phases, starting from March 2nd, for up to 18 weeks.
Warrington Borough Council has given notice it intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving as follows: Burford Lane from its junction with Warrington Lane to its junction with Stage Lane; Stage Lane from its junction with Burford Lane to its junction with Oughtrington Crescent; Oughtrington Crescent from its junction with Stage Lane to its junction with Oughtrington Lane; Oughtrington Lane from its junction with Oughtrington Crescent to its junction with Longbutt Lane; Sandy Lane from its junction with Stage Lane to its junction with Rushgreen Road.
The Order will be effective from 2nd March 2026 for 18 weeks, with the works being carried out in phases, as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative routes will be as follows: Burford Lane via Higher Lane, Brookfield Road, Eagle Brow, The Cross, New Road, Rushgreen Road, Birchbrook Road and vice versa; Stage Lane via Mill Lane, Birchbrook Road, Sandy Lane and vice versa; Oughtrington Crescent via Higher Lane, Brookfield Road, Eagle Brow, The Cross, New Road, Rushgreen Road, Birchbrook Road, Sandy Lane and vice versa; Oughtrington Lane via Higher Lane, Brookfield Road, Eagle Brow, The Cross, New Road, Rushgreen Road, Birchbrook Road, Sandy Lane and vice versa; Sandy Lane via, Birchbrook Road, Mill Lane, Stage Lane and vice versa. The closure is required to allow Scottish Power to install a new HV cable.
