WARRINGTON parkrun celebrated its 12th Birthday Party at the weekend with another bumper turn out attracting 735 participants just shy of the Christmas 2025 Day record of 814.

Huw Jones race director has only missed an event when he has gone on holiday. He received a big hug from Louise Blizzard (Warrington Athletic Club) on behalf of all the runners for the way he has managed the weekly event come rain, snow or ice and his organisational skills.
Huw said: “Warrington parkrun still going after all these years, Louise was our first female finisher today and in our first event in 2014, she finished 32 overall in a time of 22:03 which is fantastic. Our first male finisher today was Jack Pilkington from Lymm Runners in a time of 17:10 which is also a great team.
“I have a great team of volunteers that make the Warrington parkrun a huge success the last few weeks have been cold, but they all work hard despite the weather, today we had thirty-eight, some of whom have turned out on more than four hundred occasions.”
