ONE casualty was airlifted to hospital following a two-vehicle collision, which resulted in the closure of Warrington Road at Risley on Thursday afternoon.
Emergency services attended the scene at 15:16 following a collision involving a red Volkswagen Tiguan and a silver Kia Picanto on Warrington Road, Risley.
Two fire engines from Warrington and Lymm attended the scene following reports of one person trapped.
One casualty, who was medically trapped, was extricated by firefighters. Police implemented a full road closure while the incident was being dealt with, and paramedics were also on scene.
At 16:26, one casualty had been rescued from their vehicle and was being transported to hospital via air ambulance.
The road has now reopened.
