Village centre road facing road closures for up to three weeks

A village centre road at Stockton Heath, Warrington, is facing road closures for up to three weeks, next month, February.

The closures, which start from February 23rd, are to allow Cadent to carry out Gas mains replacement works.

Warrington Borough Council has given notice it intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving as follows: Chapel Lane between its junction with Walton Road and its junction with Orchard Street; Kimberley Drive between its junction with Walton Road and its junction with Dundonald Avenue.
The Order will be effective from 23rd February 2026 for 3 weeks, as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative routes will be as follows: Chapel Lane via Walton Road, London Road, Orchard Street and vice versa; Kimberley Drive via Walton Road, Hawthorne Road, Southern Street and vice versa. The closure is required to allow Cadent to carry out Gas mains replacement works.
