Two fire crews called out to kitchen fire at Orford

FIREFIGHTERS wearing breathing apparatus tackled a kitchen fire at a residential property at Orford, Warrington.

At 18:53 on Thursday, crews from Warrington and Stockton Heath attended the premises on Bentham Avenue.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus took a hose reel jet into a property to find a small fire in the kitchen. The fire, believed to involve a small kitchen appliance, was extinguished, and a high-pressure fan was used to clear the smoke. Crews used a thermal imaging camera to ensure there were no signs of fire spread.
The occupant was accounted for, and there were no reported injuries.
Later at 8:33 p.m. one crew attended reports of a hedge fire at a property in Menlow Close, Grappenhall.
Firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish a fire involving a hedge. It is believed to have been ignited deliberately, and police have been notified.
