UPDATED: POLICE have tonight confirmed they have arrested a man serving 23 years for attempted murder, who had absconded from HMP Thorn Cross at Appleton Thorn, Warrington.
Kieran Cameron had walked out of the open prison on Tuesday evening, with police launching a public appeal, warning members of the public not to approach him.
Police have now confirmed Cameron has been arrested in the Hulme area of Greater Manchester by officers from the Cheshire Police Serious and Organised Crime unit.
The 43-year-old is currently serving a 23-year prison sentence for attempted murder in Dorset in 2016.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: ” We’re pleased to confirm that a man who absconded from HMP Thorn Cross has now been arrested.
“43-year-old Kieran Cameron was located in the Hulme area of Greater Manchester by officers from the Cheshire Police Serious and Organised Crime unit.
“Many thanks for your support.”
