THE driver of a car escaped with minor injuries after a car overturned in a field at Winwick, Warrington, last night.

The incident occurred during snowy conditions, with police warning of more icy conditions to come.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: “At around 8.49 pm, officers in Warrington were notified of reports of a road traffic incident in the Waterworks Lane area of Winwick.
“The caller reported that the vehicle, a silver Nissan Micra, had left the carriageway and had overturned into a nearby field.
“The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital by a family member.
“Police were not deployed to the scene.”
Meanwhile, Cheshire Police are warning motorists to take care on icy roads.
Temperatures are going to stay low for the next couple of days – particularly overnight and into the mornings, with things getting a little ‘warmer’ later in the week.
Take your time on the roads, drive according to the conditions, and regularly check the weather forecasts. Keep an eye out for ice – particularly early on Tuesday and Wednesday.
