WARRINGTON’S Luke Littler secured his second PDC World Championship title and the record £1m top prize with a convincing 7-1 victory over Gian van Veen.
World number one Luke Littler, aged just 18, and appearing in his third consecutive final, became the first player to successfully defend the title since Gary Anderson in 2016.
Meanwhile, the young Dutchman Van Veen was appearing in his first World Championship final at the Alexandra Palace in London, which has become a second home for Littler.
Van Veen started out with lots of heart and got the first set.
But Littler eventually took control to win the second set before running away with it, with a thrilling 147 finish.
Following his victory, Littler said: “The first time was so nice, I had to do it twice.”
