WARRINGTON Borough Council has extended the consultation period over the future of Woolston Neighbourhood Hub due to the high level of interest.

The consultation had been due to close today, January 2nd, but has now been extended by a further two weeks until January 16th.

Warrington Borough Council has today issued a statement confirming the consultation on the future of Woolston Neighbourhood Hub has been extended until Friday 16 January 2026.

The statement said: “The consultation was initially intended to close on Friday, 2 January. However, there has been very high interest in the consultation, with responses still being received. It has therefore been decided to extend the consultation by two weeks to allow further feedback to be submitted.
“The survey is intended to predominantly understand how residents use the hub, and what the impact of possible closure would be. The consultation also welcomes any other feedback, ideas and suggestions.”
There have been complaints over the lack of transparency over the consultation following the decision to close the premises following the discovery of legionella in the water system last July.
Attempts to resolve the issue uncovered other problems with the premises, including rotting flooring and roofing issues, which the council say will cost £3m to repair.
