Rylands beaten by the elements at Bamber Bridge

WARRINGTON Rylands were on the wrong side of a 3-1 scoreline at The SFC Stadium as Bamber Bridge took all three points from Saturday’s match.

On an inconsistent playing surface where the ball didn’t bounce up from scattered areas of mud, Rylands knew they were up against the odds and their chances of playing quick-passing accurate football were certainly reduced.
That became evident as the hosts, used to the condition of the ground, soon began to take control and after 13 minutes Ewan Bange found himself alone in front of goal with just Luke Pilling to tap past for the first goal of the game.
Eight minutes later Alex Kiwomya ran through the back line to intercept an over-the-top ball which he powered through the legs of keeper Aidan Dowling and into the net to bring the scores level.
However, the first half belonged to the home side as Emerich Poilly somehow managed to slot the ball through a crowded goalmouth and into the net to take the lead once again.
The Blues came out after the break with more determination but, with both sides slipping and sliding on the soft ground, couldn’t test Dowling.
Pushing forward in search of the equaliser Warrington were susceptible to a break-away goal. Centre forward George Waring, now playing along the back row, could only manage a lofted clearance which quickly came back, reaching Bange who took his second goal of the match and secured the win for The Brig.
Warrington Rylands now have six days to put this game behind them and prepare to host Warrington Town on Boxing Day for an all-ticket home derby match.
