OUTLINE plans for up to 55 homes on farmland at Lymm have been submitted to Warrington Borough Council.

The scheme, put forward by developers Nightingale Land, involves a 2.62 hectare site bounded by Rushgreen Road, Reddish Lane and Reddish Crescent. It is currently in agricultural use.
To the east, the site is bounded by a low hedgerow, beyond which lie west-facing dwellings in Reddish Crescent, visible across much of the site. The northern boundary adjoins the Trans Pennine Trail, lined by mature trees.
To the west, a there is a cluster of properties at Willoways, with surrounding tree planting enclose the site further, while the southern boundary fronts Rush Green Road, opposite a Sainsbury’s store, new residential development, and older properties.

The applicants claim the site is within a 15 minute walk of Lymm village centre. Bus services also operate along Rushgreen Road with stops about 50 metres of the site frontage.
Overall, the applicants say the proposed development supports a well-connected and “walkable” neighbourhood, encouraging active travel and reducing reliance on the car.
The scheme is currently being considered by the borough council’s planning department.
