AN emergency road closure has come into force at Grappenhall, Warrington, due to a leaking gas main.
The closure, which came into force today (Wednesday), for up to 21 days, is on Church Lane, Grappenhall, from the junction of Chester Road to its junction with Broad Lane.
Warrington Borough Council has given notice with effect from Wednesday, 10th December, for up to 21 days as and when the signs are in place on site, Church Lane, from its junction with Chester Road to its junction with Broad Lane, will be closed to vehicular traffic.
Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works.
The alternative route will be Via Chester Road, Knutsford Road, Bellhouse Lane and vice versa.
The reason for the emergency closure is to allow Cadent to carry out urgent repairs to a leaking gas main in the carriageway.

Cadent have been working on that stretch of road for nearly a week and they’ve only just discovered a leak !
